Your First Visit
More than 50% of new practice members at Vida Chiropractic are word of mouth referrals! Everyone is welcome and we look forward to welcoming you to our practice.
We set aside specific times in the day for first visits. If our allocated times do not suit you, we will do our very best to find a solution.
What happens on your first visit?
- A detailed health questionnaire is completed [this can be done prior to your arrival - see below].
- A thorough health history is discussed.
- A specific chiropractic examination is conducted, including posture, movement and neurological and orthopaedic tests where appropriate.
- A computerised spinal scan is performed on our state-of-the-art equipment.
- A referral for x-rays is organised, if necessary.
Health Questionnaires
Upon entering our office, our Chiropractic Assistant will warmly welcome you. We will request that you complete our health questionnaire, unless you have already completed it via downloading and printing it from "Online Forms". This paperwork provides us with your health history and information on your condition.
Consultation
Next, you will have a consultation with Dr. Michael Bloom or Dr Michelle Ronan to discuss your health-related problems, concerns, and potential care options. This initial visit is designed for Dr. Michael or Dr Michelle to learn more about you, your condition, and your expectations to determine if chiropractic wellness care is likely to help you. If it looks promising, a thorough examination will take place.
Examination
After your consultation, Dr. Michael or Dr Michelle will perform a complete chiropractic examination. Any pertinent neurological, orthopaedic, postural, and physical tests will be performed as well. However, nothing will be done in our office without your consent.
Computerised Scans
The sEMG (Surface Electromyography) scan is a state-of-the-art computerised spinal assessment that measures nerve function to muscles, blood vessels, glands and organs. Any abnormalities in the results of these scans could be a possible indication of your presenting condition. These are indicated in the scans by colours and/or abnormal patterns.
Normal function – white bars
Abnormal function:
Mild = Green Bars
Moderate = Blue Bars
Severe = Red Bars
Very Severe = Black Bars
The sequence below demonstrates the progressive release of stuck patterns of nervous system interference and a return toward more optimal body function and health.

X-Ray Studies
Depending on your specific condition, we may refer you for x-rays. X-rays help us develop the most effective care plan for you, and alert us to any serious spinal conditions. Most people are amazed when they see their x-rays up close and in some cases, are able to identify their misalignments and degeneration themselves. X-rays are 100% covered by Medicare.
After your initial consultation, one of our friendly Chiropractic Assistants will book you in for your Report of Findings (second visit) and answer any further questions you may have.
